Throughout Papua New Guinea and Australia, August is the month of national Book Week 2021.

Papua New Guinea kicked off the month with its annual celebration under the theme ' Lockdown, Stay Safe, Read Books', whilst the Children's Book Council of Australia's (CBCA) annual Book Week takes place from the 21st - 27th, with 'Old Worlds, New Worlds, Other Worlds'.

Whether you are in Papua New Guinea, Australia or elsewhere across the globe, Hibiscus Three wishes you a wonderful time of exploring, learning, imagining and sharing ideas as we celebrate and promote the importance of reading, and the joy that all children can find in it.

Here at Hibiscus Three, we are encouraging our community and supporters of Papua New Guinean authors and writers to have their young readers experience the Kokoda Trail through the eyes of Papua New Guinean trekker 'Rachel' and Carrier 'Ovuru', in a poem-prose story about the importance of ethical and sustainable trek tourism in Papua New Guinea. A collaborative book project by Australian trek Tour Operator and Kokoda specialists, Adventure Kokoda, and Papua New Guinean author Rashmii Bell, Roses At Eora Eora is available for purchase to add your little one's reading pile for Book Week 2021!

Available for purchase here.
